Paul Reidy

Last night we were delighted to welcome Paul Reidy, a member of Blarney Photography Club to Clonakilty. Despite the access and parking issues, Paul managed to find his way here and we had a most enjoyable evening listening to Paul’s stories and looking at his stunning fine art and portrait photographs.

Paul has been taking and making photos for many years albeit with a brief hiatus after becoming burnt out by the demands of being a press photographer. He has now developed a style of his own photographing fine art nudes and portraiture, creating composite images that have a beautiful depth to them.

More knowledgeable on the art of makeup than his daughter, more of a shopaholic than his wife and to the chagrin of his son, Paul’s photography reflects not just his creativity and skill but his attention to detail and the many, many years of photographing just about everything. Paul blends together his portraits with textures, photographed objects and the subtle use of blurring to create his award winning images.

Many thanks, Paul for not only an inspiring presentation but for a most enjoyable evening.
