This was our last meeting for the club year and a special one it was too. Our very own award winning author, Veitch Memorial Medallist, gardening guru and photographer, Joy Larkcom spoke about her time researching Oriental vegetables in China and Canada in the early 1980s.
To illustrate her fascinating talk, Joy showed us lots of photos that she and her photographic assistant took whilst on their tour. Joy has subsequently introduced many of the salad crops she encountered into the UK and Irish markets and also some of the techniques used to facilitate their growth and the economic use of planting space.
