We were delighted to start this evening’s meeting with the handing over of a cheque for just over €1120 to Maeve Hurley from the Rainbow Club in Mahon, Cork. The Rainbow Club were the recipients of the monies raised at our Annual Fundraising Exhibition held at the Celtic Ross Hotel.
The money was raised through the sale of raffle tickets on the night and from the sale of photographs that have been in the exhibition since opening night and over the past few months. Congratulations to all involved in this outstanding achievement.
Following the presentation of the cheque Dermot showed us some of the photos he took whilst on a trip to Vancouver and Whistler earlier this year. It looked as if it was an amazing trip. Dermot’s photos of the unique architecture of the city and his pictures on and around the bay area had us all feeling this was a city we need to visit. Thanks Dermot.
The evening concluded with us gathering into groups and critiquing the various photos we had taken of My Favourite Place. It was a fun way to share and discuss the photos we had taken and be both admiring and critical (constructively of course) of one another’s images.
Congratulations to Gemma, David and Jeremy for being chosen as the best image within their group or category and to Patricia for winning the competition with her fabulous image taken on a recent trip to France.
