Johnny Creedon Nature Photography Competition

Last night, November 18th, we were delighted to once again welcome renowned photographer Mike Brown to judge our annual Johnny Creedon Nature Photographer of the Year Award.

The evening was most enjoyable and Mike’s assessment, encouragement and advice was most informative and well received. First up, congratulations to Dawn Creagh for winning the competition with her fabulous photo of a mountain gorilla taken whilst on a trip to Rwanda. A wonderful photo that captures the vulnerability of the animal perfectly.

Congratulations must also go to Jeremy as runner-up and to Nicholas and Noreen for finishing equal third. You can check out these and other entries below.

As mentioned, Mike gave us a detailed and informative critique for each of the images entered and advice on how we might improve our photos. .

Whilst Mike was viewing and judging the photos we took the opportunity to celebrate a significant birthday of one of our members, Joy, by name and by nature. It was a delightful occasion with the additional bonus of wine, nibbles and birthday cake. Congratulations Joy and we look forward to celebrating again soon – anyone’s birthday coming up? Doesn’t matter whose!
