First up many thanks to Leire for her slideshow of photos taken in and around her home town of Bibao in the Basque region of northern Spain. Leire has a great eye for a photo and her colourful and striking images were a delight. Leire, we are sad to see you leave but… WE KNOW WHERE YOU ARE!!!

Secondly, thanks also to Mike Brown for once again judging the Johnny Creedon Nature Photographer of the Year competition and hearty congratulations to Nicholas for his winning photo of the feathers on a swan. A beautiful, abstract, black & white photograph.

Mike, as always gave us tremendous feedback on each of the entries, commenting that the standard is improving each year.
It was interesting to see the variety of approaches to this year’s competition with entries covering a wide range of subject matter and styles. The presentation of all the images was excellent and whilst some would benefit from minor post-processing or cropping, all were well received.
Congratulations to all who entered. Nicholas’ winning image in addition to several other entries can be seen below.
For those interested in developing their photo-editing skills, Mike offers classes through his Cork-based practice, Platform3Photography.
