Competitions are fantastic for focusing the mind and for encouraging us to produce our best work. But it’s also good to have challenges beyond competitions.
When you look up photography challenges, they tend to range from the intensity of 30 photos in 30 days to 12 in 12 months. We thought we could reduce it a little more; hence the idea of one photo in 60 days (roughly!) and six across the year.
One of the ways we can use these images is in our ‘Critique and Chat’ evenings, the first of which is scheduled for the 22nd February. Using that as our deadline, we have four months to produce two images each that we are pleased with. In this way, over the next year we can expect to increase our bank of photographs for exhibitions, competitions and club sessions.
