Lisselan Gardens visit

How lucky are we? On the Saturday before Easter about a dozen members of the club visited Lisselan Gardens just outside Clonakilty on the Bandon side of town. The weather was favourable and the gardens were beginning to bloom. Magnolia, Rhodedendron and Camelia among the more colourful of the shrubs, bluebells and tulips among the flowers in bloom as the daffodils’ glory faded.

Many spent the best part of the day walking the extensive gardens and grounds surrounding the house, avoiding the golf course and wayward tee shots. The river and ornamental gardens providing great photographic opportunities.

Well worth a visit and a return in a few weeks time when the flower borders are in bloom would not be amiss.
