Annual Camera Club Awards dinner.

Last Saturday night, January 24th, members of the camera club and their partners, dressed in their finery, gathered in O’Donovan’s Hotel for the gala presentation of the club’s 2014 awards.

The guest of honour for the evening was Dr. Jason van der Velde from the West Cork Rapid Response Unit. Jason was there to receive a cheque for €700 being the monies raised by the club at the 2014 exhibition in the Celtic Ross. In addition to thanking the club for their most generous donation, Jason spoke about how the Unit has exceeded expectations in terms of raising funds for capital expenditure but still needs to continue to raise monies for  running costs. He challenged us as a group to see if we could devise a way to raise awareness of the role of the Unit whilst retaining client/doctor confidentiality.
