John Hooton, one of Ireland’s foremost landscape photographers, was invited to give the club a talk on his work and some insights into the ways he creates his stunning landscape around the west coast of Ireland.
In his own words : ‘ I have always been captivated by the ever varying light and mood of Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way. Exploring this region has offered me an insight into the way our landscape has transformed and evolved over centuries. I try to capture these changing lights and moods within my Irish landscape photography. No matter how many times I venture out across the Wild Atlantic Way, I’m always struck by the ability of the coastline to transform and reveal new elements of its personality.’
Some members have already attended some of his workshop’s on the West Coast with extensive practical work on the coastline. They found the experience inspiring and enlightening. More details about John and his workshops can be found on https://www.john-hooton.com
