POTY 2018 feedback

This evening we were delighted to welcome the Reverend Kingsley Sutton from the congregation of Kilgariffe Union of Parishes. Kingsley was one of the three judges of our POTY competition this year, the others being renowned photographer of Fallen Angels fame and friend of the club, Michael O’Sullivan and local artist Donagh Carey.

Along with John, our competition chairperson, Kingsley provided us with some detailed feedback on all of the photos entered in to the 2017 Photographer of the Year competition, won by Nicholas, with Kathleen as runner-up and Geoff in third place.

It was terrific to see all the entries in the competition which had as its theme, The Seven Deadly Sins. All agreed that this was a challenging topic. There was a broad range of styles of photos entered as the entrants put their own interpretation on the theme.

Members can see the entries by following the link on our Google Drive page.

A sample of the photos can be seen below.

Many thanks to Kingsley for coming along and sharing his thoughts and also to John for organising the judging and providing each entrant with their own individualised feedback.
