Johnny Creedon Nature Competition & two 5 minutes

It was time for Mike Brown to once again don his judging hat and consider the entries in this year’s Johnny Creedon Nature Photographer of the Year competition. And for the second year in a row Nicholas came out on top, this time with his photo of a snail. Congratulations!

Rebel Cup results

Many thanks to all members who submitted images for our Rebel Cup panel an overview of which appears below. Our results were a little disappointing but we improved on our last effort so progress is being made. Many thanks to John & Patricia for taking the panel up and also to those members who went up to offer their support.

POTY review

This year’s POTY entries were based around the theme, I Spy with My Little Eye Something Beginning With… and then each member had to choose 3 of A, E, I, O or U as their subject. Members had to take one colour and one mono photo plus one other. The entries were judged by Suzanne, Sinead and Finbarr from Fermoy Camera Club and we are most grateful to them for their time, expertise and detailed and constructive feedback on every entry. Thankyou. Continue reading POTY review

Secondly, thanks also to Mike Brown for once again judging the Johnny Creedon Nature Photographer of the Year competition and hearty congratulations to Nicholas for his winning photo of the feathers on a swan. Although the number of entries turned out to be disappointingly small the standard showed that all had learnt from Tadg’s sessions.

Congratulations to Geoff for yet another successful entry and many thanks to Joe and Tom for standing in and judging at short notice.
